It was an intense, tugging at my heart..............
Oh, that was just Bree checking out my shirt.
(It's new...from the Walmart organic line...the ladies are big on organic I guess. Actually, it was my pajama top-Dad didn't want to dirty up another shirt. Either way, she liked it.)
One thing led to another and Bree was checking out my hand but didn't want to let go. She sure is forward, but I suppose she is about 7 months my senior, and has experience with these kinds of situations. Admittedly, I didn't pull my hand away and the rest of our stroll was lovely, just the two of us against the world. We discussed current events...like Mama's and Dada's and who could make the best, wettest rasberry. It was a time for us to relax and enjoy not having to worry about what sippy cup we'd get to drink out of for dinner, or whether our diapers were soaked, or any of the other major issues weighing on our minds, we had not a care in the world.
Of course, our Moms had to go and mess that up for us. (THANKS MOM!)
I love you my sweet Bree!
Somehow Grandma found out about my special walk with Bree and she felt compelled to write a poem.
Message from Grandma:
Cooper, Cooper
You move so fast
Holding hands
You're truly first class.
Just friends, you say,
We know the truth
Your smile beguiles
or perhaps
its your tooth.
Strolling along
Sharing your thoughts
Singing your songs
Kicking your socks
Practice makes perfect,
the old folks, they say.
From now til your 20,
you'll have your own way
with any who look
deep into your eyes
you'll whisper
sweet nothings
mama dada
surprise
The sweetest thing
to this grandma's ears
hi nana on the phone
brought me to tears

(Thats right, I said something along the lines of "Hi nana," I'm trying really hard to copy what Mom says. You see, I'm a much better writer than speaker-so I'm unable to express myself out loud, and this was quite a milestone)
